UVB: Reptiles need UVB light for vitamin D production and calcium formation. Without UVB, reptiles can contract bone disease due to metabolic disorders in 6 months or in a shorter period of time. UVA: Reptiles and amphibians can see things that people don't see. UVA light is the part of the rainbow colors that reptiles can see. UVA light helps increase the overall activity level of reptiles, their appetite and reproductive behavior. Without UVA light, they are colour blind! Ideal in large terrariums or vivariums with the following reptiles: tropical lizards (green iguanas, day geckos, anolis, water agamas, etc.), turtles, tortoises, chameleons (panther chameleon, Yemen chameleon, etc.). Stronger UVB radiation and brighter light: twice as strong as the standard ReptiSun 5.0 lamps. Increased UVB radiation: ideal for larger terrariums or vivariums (see recommended lamp spacing on packaging). Lamp spacing: this lamp produces vital UVB rays up to 60 cm from the lamp surface. Glass and plastic filter the UVB almost completely, fine terrarium gauze filters the UVB and light up to 50%. Please take this into account when using the lamp. The T5 HO ReptiSun 5.0 is ideally suited for terrarium reptiles from 30 to 60 cm body length. We recommend a minimum distance of 15 cm from the animal. Lamp replacement: this lamp will provide your animals with vital UVB. For daily use of 10 to 12 hours, the lamp should be replaced after 12 months.
