• Function: The GS shift sensor detects the actuation of the shift cable and interrupts or reduces the engine effect. This protects the chain when changing gears and ensures a durable shift system. For hub gears, this sensor is indispensable, as most can only handle a torque of 5-12 Nm and you can get up to 100 Nm with your e-bike system. Derailleur gears have a higher tolerance, but here too, the sensor avoids a loud and hard shifting process.
• COMPATIBILITY The GS shift sensor from gearsensor.com fits all Bafang mid engines, especially the Bafang BBS systems. It is also compatible with a wide range of mid-range engines including Brose, TQ, Polini, AEG, Fazua, Ananda, Motinova, DAPU, DP, COMP, Tongsheng, Shengyi, MPF and Bofeili. However, a plug adapter is required for non-Bafang systems. It is compatible with most chain and hub gears Two end caps and a shift cable adapter are included.
• Connection: the gear sensor has a cable length of approx. 35 cm for high flexibility of cable routing and laying. The connection for the shift sensor is located at the bottom of the middle motor. If you want to connect the sensor at the top of the harness, you will need a 1T2 splitter. You can find this in our shop.
• Assembly: To install, unhook the shift rope and pass it through the sensor. Cut the insulation according to the length of the sensor. You can fix the sensor to the gear rope in two ways waterproof. Either directly on the handle, in this case there is an included adapter between the handle and the sensor. An end cap is then inserted on the other side. Or you can place the sensor along the shift rope and insert an end cap on both sides.
