Outstanding properties compared to other cords made of polyamide alloys: Low elongation Highest linear load Maximum knot load The STROFT LS was developed on the basis of a new polyamide alloy. The tuning focus is on reducing stretch while ensuring the highest possible tensile strength. That's what the abbreviation LS (for low stretch) stands for. The "expansion properties" diagram shows for STROFT LS (purple) an elongation at break (at 100% line load) of approx. 17%. This is significantly lower than other cords made of polyamide or fluorocarbon laces. Also in the area of the lifting elongation (approx. 50% line load) LS with a stretch of approx. 9% significantly below. (Only UHMWPE braided cords have even less stretch). In the area of fine load elongation (approx. 10% line load) LS is also below the other polyamide cords, but slightly above fluorocarbon. The tensile strength values are (on average of all diameters between 0.10 mm and 0.60 mm) the highest that have been achieved so far with monofilaments. This applies to the tensile strengths with knots, as well as to the tensile strengths without knots. In the range of thinner diameters, the values are still similar to the GTM, but then increase continuously. The 0.60 mm Stroft LS carries a considerable 33.0 kg. So if the lowest possible stretch with the highest possible load capacity is important and a slightly greater stiffness can be accepted, STROFT LS is the first choice. The slightly larger stiffness also causes a slightly larger memory, which can also be noticeable when tying knot (depending on the type of knot).
