A: The sunlight will heat the remote. The temp will not be a false reading. It will be the temp of the remote in the sunlight . If you want ambient temp you must put it in a place where it has shade, good air circulation and no radiated heat from nearby structures such as, Buildings, parking lots, etc. Q: Is the outdoor sensor water proof? A: The outdoor sensor is not water proof. It must be vertically placed in a dry location, out of direct sunlight, and a foot or two away from heated / air conditioned structures. A sheltered location would likely be good. (roof overhang, underside of a waterproof deck, etc.) Q: What is the expected battery life? A: It will depend on the quality of batteries. Because the indoor unit keeps scan the remote’s signal every 10s and the remote sensor also needs to transmit signal frequently. We recommend you to use good quality batteries. You could monitor the battery status on the main unit. And please change the battery ASAP if one of the following 3 situations occurs. 1.Low battery indicator 2.the main monitor kept losing the remote’s signal 3.the touch screen buttons become insensitive
