Product Description The Renault 5 Turbo was a special version of the legendary Renault 5, specially developed for rallying. Instead of a rear seat, this powerhouse housed a centered 1.4-liter four-cylinder in-line turbo engine. Thanks to the reinforced, independent suspension with double wishbone on all four wheels, the Turbo was able to handle any challenge with precision. The lightweight 3-door body made of aluminum and plastic elements provided an exceptional power-to-weight ratio. Visually, the Renault 5 Turbo set new standards: wide wings, integrated bumpers with air deflectors and a striking roof spoiler gave it an unmistakable appearance that was clearly different from the original Renault 5. The big moment came in 1981, when the factory car achieved the first worldwide rally win of the year and from that moment on it was regularly found in the top times.
