Product Description Flourite sand is a porous clay in the form of scales, excellent as a natural substrate for the aquarium with plants. This base can also be used as a normal substrate in any freshwater aquarium. Flourite sand can be mixed with other funds, but it is more effective if used alone. No additions are required as in the case of laterite or other competitors. Flourite sand" should never be replaced, it remains effective throughout the life of the aquarium, is not chemically treated and does not alter the pH of the water. Although it is pre-washed, it is preferable to rinse before using it to remove residue. An initial opalescence is normal and will disappear quickly (2-12 hours). To decrease opalescence, use clarity" in combination with a mechanical filter (glass wool). Directions Although it is pre-washed, because Flourite® Sand is a natural product, it may become dusty in transit and require rinsing before use to remove any residual dust. When adding water to aquarium, fill slowly to avoid disturbing Flourite® Sand substrate bed. Place a bowl in the aquarium and add water directly to the bowl, allowing water to overflow softly on to the gravel bed. Initial cloudiness is normal. To remove cloudiness, use mechanical filtration (such as filter floss). Use Clarity™ to accelerate clearing.
