Renderguard Gold is a high-specification plaster additive for use in sand-cement renders after the installation of a remedial damp proof course. Following the installation of a remedial dpc correct re-plastering is of the utmost importance. Even if the damp-proof course is effective, hygroscopic salts introduced by the rising damp may cause moisture to be attracted to the wall. This causes further dampness and decorative spoiling, giving the impression that the damp-proof course has not been successful. Renderguard gold prevents spoiling of decorative surfaces in two ways: 1 - Prevents the passage of residual moisture to the decorative surface during the drying process. 2 - Prevents the passage of hygroscopic salts from the underlying masonry to the new decorative surface. Application: Mix 1 part Renderguard Gold with 24 parts water Use to dilute 3 part sand/1 part cement Render to give an overall thickness of 12mm, then a second coat of 12mm before the first coat has finally set. Apply a finishing coat of 3mm gypsum skim finish or similar. Coverage: 1L of concentrate is sufficient for 7m² of render at 12mm thickness.
