The Palmer mosel is a high-quality DI box, made without compromise, and offers useful additional functions. Its active switching guarantees a particularly high input impedance, for a punchy and pure sound. The unbalanced high-impedance signal from magnet or piezo pickups is transformed into a balanced low-impedance output signal, which prevents any loss of brilliance – even when transported over long cable lengths. The Palmer mosel is also suitable for synthesizers and other electronic keyboards, as it is extraordinarily stable. Its output transformer – which provides galvanic isolation to eliminate ground loops – accepts line-level signals up to +20 dBu. In addition, the mosel is encapsulated in Mu-metal to eliminate electromagnetic interference. The Palmer mosel offers two additional special functions: a switchable pad (attenuator) (-10/20/30 dB) and a boost function (+12 dB). These features ensure that you always get the optimum level for noise- and distortion-free recordings. The mosel is also extremely practical because the unbalanced input is available not only in jack format, but also as XLR sockets. Fragile external adapters are therefore not necessary. The Ground Lift switch separates the signal ground from the chassis ground and offers a Soft Lift position. The mosel is powered either by external 48 V phantom power or by an internal 9 V battery.
