Its active circuit with low noise floor provides a higher input impedance than a passive DI box. This means that the sound of electric instruments is captured without loss of treble or bass. Ensuring a high input impedance is essential in the interaction of electronic stages with the magnetic sensors of electric guitars, electric basses and electromechanical electric pianos (e.g. Rhodes), as well as with the piezoelectric (passive) pickups of acoustic instruments. Furthermore, the Palmer havel is also very well suited for synthesizers and other electronic keyboards, as it also offers sufficient headroom to handle high-level sources without unwanted distortion. Of course, the Palmer havel has a THRU output to return the input signal to the instrument's amplifier. By activating its 30 dB pre-attenuation, the Palmer havel can also be inserted between the amplifier output and the speaker cabinet if you want to record the signal modified by its passage through the amplifier instead of the "raw" signal of the instrument. The Palmer havel's balanced, low-impedance output signal is resistant to interference, allowing long cable runs without loss of sound quality. Thanks to the integrated transformer, the XLR output is galvanically isolated. Possible ground loops can be easily eliminated by pressing the ground lift switch. The Palmer havel is powered either via 48 V phantom power or via a standard power supply (DC voltage between 9 and 24 V).
