You form the shape of the pot by pouring the kneading clay into a mould, once it has dried it can be removed from the mould. The clay is then cleaned and prepared for firing in the kiln at 800°C. One of our highly skilled workers can trace the pattern onto the pot. This has taken many years of training to perfect the art and we only use the best artists to do this. The pipe lining is then applied, it is then placed back in the kiln and fired again at 800°C. What is a pipe lining; it is a technique of ceramic decoration. It involves forcing a thin line of clay body through a nozzle onto the dish to be decorated. A bit like icing a cake. Once the pot has cooled the pot is then hand painted by skilled artisans then left to dry. Once dried a glossy glaze is applied and the pot is fired this time at 1100°C. The final process: The pot must then pass its final quality control, and only then is it delivered in a gift box for sale.
