Our TMT-RHA-503abATC refractometer has been developed to determine the concentration of urea in AdBlue. What is AdBlue? AdBlue is an aqueous colourless urea solution consisting of 32.5 percent pure urea and 67.5 percent demineralised water and is used in the automotive industry. Long storage times cause a creeping decomposition of the liquid. The device is therefore suitable for checking the urea water solution when delivered, storage or in customer vehicles. With its integrated automatic temperature compensation system (ATC), the handheld refractometer offers maximum precision and ease of use. The device is equipped with a sturdy metal housing and a plastic-coated handle. Application example measurement: Before each measuring process, you should carefully clean the hinged lid and prism and then let it dry. Then add 1-2 drops of the sample to the prism, when closing the hinged lid, the sample is evenly distributed between the lid and the prism. The sample can be applied to the main prism with the pipette. It is important to ensure that no air bubbles form. This would negatively affect the measurement result. By gently moving the hinged lid, the sample fluid can be distributed evenly. Now hold the refractometer against bright daylight to see the scale through the eyepiece. The desired value can now be read directly. Please clean and dry the device carefully after each measurement process so that there is no deposit on the prism and lid.
