Carriage bolts are used primarily in wood constructions but not to be confused with Coach Screws, Carriage bolts are secured by the use of a nut and do not cut thread when tightening into position.
• Stainless steel coach bolts are a higher tensile strength than normal mild steel coach bolts, and so are not recommended for use in normal structural timber applications where joint movement needs to be accommodated.
