• Rim fit: All LP Traditional and X Series Bongo hoops in corresponding size, Notes: The tension hoop determines the outer diameter of the head, the size specification determines the crown diameter at the rim. LP bongo heads have the same outer diameter with the same crown diameter, regardless of the type of hoop. The indicated skin sizes correspond to the effective crown diameter (for bongos and djembes the largest diameter of the shell). This is a measure to harmonise the size specifications with REMO and LP congas. For LP bongos with manufacturer's specifications of 5 1/2", 7 1/4" and 8 5/8", choose 5 1/4", 7" and 8.5" skins accordingly.

LP mountable heads are easily put on your instrument - the process is almost identical to changing a snare or tom head. A lug wrench or ratchet will be needed to tune and detune the heads, and it is recommended to lube up the tension rods with oil before the initial tightening of the head. While the heads can be tightened to extreme heights, it is very important to detune congas and bongos after you are done playing them - if not, the pressure on the heads will stretch them out over time, and the hardware will suffer as well. Rawhide has been the traditional head used on congas and bongos for generations, giving you the most authentic sound possible. These heads are susceptible to change in different weather conditions.
