• ★ Useful Tips --- Machine tap is recommended for use with tap chucks with overload protection. Using a hand or electric drill can easily cause tap to break and is not recommended. Due to speed overload or non-vertical tapping, chipping or breakage may easily occur.

The tapping depth should not be over 1.5 times the diameter of the tap (eg: diameter=6mm (M6), maximum tapping depth=9mm). Drill holes with a twist drill before tapping. The tapping angle should be 90 degrees vertical and stable. Useful Tips: --- Control speed based on material hardness. Feed rate (recommended): ordinary steel (copper aluminium alloy): 6-15m/min; hard steel: 5-10m/min; stainless steel: 2-7m/min; cast iron: 8-10m/min. The higher the hardness, the slower the speed. Fast speed and low torque; slow speed and high torque. When tapping plastic, add lubricating coolant. For steel, motor oil is generally used, and vegetable oil is used for high requirements. Use No. 30 motor oil for stainless steel.
