Despite having no real-world equivalent, the MIG-28 gained popularity thanks to the movie Top Gun and has become an iconic part of pop culture. However, film fiction contains a grain of truth! The familiar silhouette of the mysterious MiG-28 is no secret to aviation experts. The movie's villain is the famous Northrop F-5 Freedom Fighter plane, repainted for the film!
