Classic Manchester

All Manchester String Quartet players are full time professional musicians. Individually they work with orchestras such as the Hallé, Opera North and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, playing, teaching and for education projects. As a quartet they are in high demand during the wedding season and take bookings up to 2 years in advance, and have over 10 years worth experience providing background music for weddings and events and regularly play for recording sessions, and establishing major corporate client base in Manchester performing for high profile events such as the launch of the new Manchester United Nike Clothing range at the Museum of Science and Industry. The quartet met while studying at the Royal Northern College of music in 2002. The founder members are John Purton, Tim Crooks, Natalie Purton and Sarah Smyth, although we now use a pool of players for our busy diary of events and weddings, and have built up a select network of professional musicians who are all friends and colleagues and excellent players.
