Product description
WHAT IS CALICO? Calico is a plain weave fabric, which means that the warp and weft (the up to down and left to the right weave of the fibers) are of equal weight, and tightly woven at right angles to give a strong and hardwearing fabric. This simple weave means that calico can be made quickly, both on mechanized looms as it is now, and on the non-mechanized looms of earlier times. Calico is a cream or beige color and you will see it sprinkled with little black dots which are the cotton seed remnants.
