Product Description 3M Synthetic Steel Wool is a highly effective alternative to wire or steel wool. It is constructed from a combination of synthetic fibres and abrasive particles that work in the same way as the more traditional products to remove paint, coatings, rust and scale. However, this durable pad is gentler on the hands, resist clogging and won’t shred, splinter or rust. It can be re-used several times, meaning it will outlast steel wool alternatives and give much greater value for money. The flat construction means it is easy to use, flexible for hard-to-reach areas or intricate pieces, and convenient to store in a toolbox or drawer. 3M Synthetic Steel Wool Pads are compatible with both traditional solvent-based and newer, water-based strippers and finishes. This medium grade is ideal for stripping old paint and varnish from curved surfaces when used with a chemical stripper. It will also clean light deposits of rust or scale and remove dried-on grout from tiles. When varnishing wood or applying special paint finishes, use 3M Synthetic Steel Wool to highlight and accent the surface.
