Instrument for three dimensional mapping of the magnetic field lines of a cylindrical bar magnet. The plexiglas housing is filled with a special, highly viscous liquid and iron filings. After the magnet has been inserted into the central hole, the iron filings, which had previously been distributed randomly in the liquid, align themselves according to the direction of the field.
