Our Park Drought Blend is a mix of Kentucky Bluegrass, also known as smooth stalked meadow grass (SSMG), Perennial Ryegrass and Tall Fescue. Medium-to-dark green in colour, Park Drought has medium-fine blades and high grass plant density. It also has superior weed and disease resistance. Park Drought will tolerate shade better than 100% pure Kentucky Blue and will recover from damage quicker than most other grasses. Park Drought is great for parks, home lawns, and commercial landscapes. It has good drought resistance and wear tolerance. Grows well in all soil types, from heavy clay to sandy soils. Displays an above average tolerance to acidic, alkaline, saline and poorly drained soils. MOWING Mow to a height of 1 .5 to 2.5 inches. Frequency is once a week. Rotary or reel mower. WATERING To avoid dry out, all newly planted turf should be watered daily and soaked thoroughly to a depth of 3 inches for the first 10 to 14 days. After that initial period, water deeply and infrequently whenever grass is showing signs of dehydration. This will be a very good low water use grass. Grass seed will not grow in Mid summer when temperatures are too hot, also grass seed will not grow when average temperature falls below 8C so please avoid frosts.
