1988 The Armada 1588 commemorative presentation pack. British Presentation Packs catalogue number PP166 (printed No. 192); issued by the Royal Mail on 19th July 1988, this pack contains a set of five mint stamps, which were produced to mark the fourth centenary of the defeat of the Spanish Armada. The Spanish Armada comprised a Fleet of 130 vessels. The aim was the invasion of England and the first engagement took place off Plymouth on 21 July., Inside the pack are details of the cause of the conflict and open to reveal a map showing how the battle was fought. Also contains images of salvaged artefacts and other illustrations.Ideal as a gift or keepsake.
