- PEAT-FREE & ORGANIC: One hundred per cent natural and British, the compost is completely peat free and organic approved. Dalefoot composts are produced on a traditional hill farm in the Lake District’s National Park and is made from potash-rich bracken from the fells, mixed with sheep's wool and added comfrey. The resulting mix is a beautifully friable and nutrient-rich compost with excellent water retention.
- ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY: The compost is a sustainable alternative to peat, which helps towards meeting the UK's target to withdraw all peat use by amateur gardeners to zero by 2024. Peat takes over 12,000 years to form, and when we deplete its stocks, it's lost for ever. This is an excellent environmentally friendly and low carbon alternative. The compost is Soil Association approved.
- OPTIMUM START FOR SEEDS: This seed compost is a perfectly blended, fine mix to provide the optimum start for your seeds, seedlings or cuttings. Now with added Comfrey, an organic and natural ‘dynamic accumulator’ with high levels of potassium, phosphorous & nitrogen for healthy plant growth, larger flowers & bigger crops. It is suitable for sowing and growing all kinds of flower and vegetable seeds.
